Find a work worth to do

Broadcast Engineer

Comprimato is a renowned provider in the media technology industry, specializing in live video encoding and media processing software. Our products empower top global broadcast productions to meet their on-premises and cloud production needs. We simplify the complexity of live video workflows into user-friendly interfaces while continuing to lead with innovations like our GPU-accelerated JPEG2000 codec—the first and fastest of its kind. Trusted by industry leaders, our technology ensures high quality and performance across various platforms.

How we work

We are small, but we do big things: we can boast of unique technology and business successes, and at the same time, we are still a pleasantly intimate company. Currently, there are twenty of us. In terms of organization, we are lean and flexible, without layers of impermeable management. Everyone is a full-fledged part of the team, and each development team member is responsible for the complete development cycle from design to final commit or deployment. We organize development in weekly sprints and define priorities using quarterly OKRs. We review each other’s code, and continuous integration and QA run automatically.

We are looking for a very skilled and senior Broadcast Engineer with experience in well-functioning support of SW products from an international company (ideally from audio & video technology). The Sales & Support team currently consists of two members, and our new colleague will assist with customer support and their feedback, while also consulting with clients on their technological and technical inquiries regarding our products.

What does a Broadcast Engineer do?

  • explains to the customer how our products work, what their technical parameters are, and how they can be deployed in their system
  • communicates with customers either by email, by phone, via teleconference, or in person at world trade fairs, such as NAB in Las Vegas or IBC in Amsterdam, etc.
  • prepares the technical procedure for deploying products to the customer, in the implementation phase, and after it
  • They are the contact person for the customer, accompanying them throughout the process and helping them solve any problems that arise. Either by themselves or in cooperation with our developers
  • answers customers’ technical questions, informs them about solutions to reported errors or new versions of SW, collects suggestions for improvement from them, and sends them to marketing and product management for further processing
  • defines customer needs and actively participates in setting priorities for the entire company

What we need from a Broadcast Engineer

This role is vital to us, as it is one of the first points of contact with a (potential) customer and, together with the salesperson, is the face and voice of our company. Since our customers are mostly IT specialists, our technical consultant must be a real expert on Comprimato products to earn their trust. We are looking for someone with a rare combination of specialized thinking and excellent communication skills, who is not afraid to speak directly to the customer (in addition to that in English), and who enjoys watching the actual use of the developed product with the customer. In addition, they can come up with ideas on how to streamline and automate processes as much as possible without compromising the quality of customer service.

We will also appreciate

  • general overview and interest in information technology
  • experience with the functioning of IT support of a software product, ideally from audio & video technology
  • knowledge of an incident management system (e.g., Zendesk)
  • knowledge of Linux, network, and video
  • experience with command line and scripting (Bash, CLI, Python, etc.)
  • the ability to communicate with customers at a partner level, to be helpful, and to find solutions
  • excellent English (at least level B2)

What we offer

  • meaningful work in a small international company with a start-up spirit
  • the agile methodology that minimizes meetings and unnecessary work
  • space and confidence to realize your ideas and thus have an impact on the functioning of the entire company
  • participation in world fairs in media entertainment – NAB in Las Vegas, IBC in Amsterdam, and others
  • working hours adjusted according to your biorhythms and needs but regarding maintaining team communication (e.g., regular meetings)
  • direct contact with the founders of the company
  • we have a modern office right on the university grounds (FI MUNI) near the city center
  • bonuses according to company results and a referral bonus for recommending a new employee
  • 25 days of vacation
  • business phone

We would like you to

  • you use English daily
  • you prefer working in an office to working from home or hybrid cooperation
